Blog Your Blessings : Lakes

Stubblefield Lake, Sam Houston National Forest, TexasStubblefield Lake in Sam Houston National Forest

A lake is the landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature.
It is earth's eye; looking into which the beholder
measures the depth of his own nature.

~Henry David Thoreau~

Stubblefield Lake is an oxbow lake that was separated from Lake Conroe by the wanderings of the West Fork of the San Jacinto River. It is quiet and peaceful, just as it is unexpected only miles away from the Stubblefield oil field.
